Twenty-four players, the top 3 in each group, advanced to the single-elimination stage. This portion of the event was preceded by a group stage (8 groups of 7), with round-robin play in each group. All matches through the quarterfinals were to 150 points the semifinal and final matches were to 175 points. The first of those 7 matches was played on Thursday, October 27, the next three on Friday, Oct. Seven men's matches were streamed on the feature table for this portion of the event, representing 30% of the 23 matches played in this portion of the event. Dmitri Jungo won the event, defeating Wiktor Zielinski in the final match. Free streaming was provided on the Facebook page "American 14.1 Straightpool Championship" and on YouTube. I personally would like to book some time to be there in person and also donate to the cause- holding off right now to see what is the reality of the situation. Here are some stats from the single-elimination portion of the 2022 American Straight Pool Championship played October 24-29 at Q-Master Billiards in Virginia Beach, Virginia. If anyone on your list is still unsure about attendance due to Covid or other mitigating factors, such as travel to the U.S., etc.- just note them as pending on your list. Please just update the website with your current registered and paid entrants, or change the terminology used to describe your current attendee lists. I am very thankful for those responsible for keeping this alive. How would one decide to attend a concert of " expected performers"? I have never seen that term used for a national or international event. We are about six weeks out- either you paid and are in it or you are not- At this point anyone wanting to support this event either with their attendance, a donation, or both is expecting to see paid registrant list- if the "expected attendees list" is in fact a list of paid registrants then so state it. My only question is when do we see the actual registered and paid list of participants- just not sure what "expected" means in terms of the list. Very happy to see this event is still "on".
